Description: An arcade shooter where the player shoots fish at UFOs. This was part of a 72 hour mini-game jam on itch.io. The theme was "UFO" and the limitation was "fish as a mechanic". I produced this alongside an artist.

Role Breakdown

Tech/Scripter/Design/UI: During this game jam I took on the engine based role and focused on the mechanics and implementation. The main hurdle and learning curve from this was in terms of scope as we (a two person team) had largely over-scoped the project for just 72 hours. Luckily we had planned with this in mind and managed to make the game envisioned at a smaller scope. The fish are simple projectiles and the UFOs are spawned in through a manager that tracks the current phase and possible spawn locations for the UFOs. Some UFOs are more difficult to destroy and are worth more points, this is showcased through the UFOs distinct colours. This game jam was really fun and tested what I could produce in such a limited time.
